What is the "Divine Light"
Unfortunately, man has lost both his identity and his true purpose within this transient world. Material attraction and the dominance of mechanical progress have numbed his faith in his true nature—as a psycho-spiritual entity with an immortal soul and spirit—and have led him to neglect the cultivation of his inner world.
Divinity, whether through visible or invisible means, always assists man—as has been evidenced through the ages. For this reason, the Lord proclaimed the sending of the Paraclete (the Holy Spirit) for the awakening and enlightenment of mankind.
The “Divine Light” is Awakening and Critical to all malicious energies that hold back, disorient and corrupt the free spirit of man. It aims at the resurrection of his sleeping Conscience.
The transmission of the Teaching began in 1961 and was completed in 1979. The Channel, Georgios Pisanis, was surrounded and supported by individuals who believed in this New Teaching of Heaven to mankind. He was recalled one day later, having completed his sacred mission. Over time, new individuals have taken on the role of stewards and administrators of this Teaching.
These Teachings are intended for all people, regardless of class or faith.
Timeline of the Society
As is well known, after the spread of Spiritualism in Greece in the early 19th century, many spiritualist circles were formed, both in Athens and in other cities. Most of them were small in size, but some of them developed into larger groups or associations.
Halandri
Such a circle operated in the 1950s at the home of poet and writer Anastasios-Milanos Stratigopoulos in Halandri, with various intermediaries, and was attended by only a few people, including Georgios Pisanis.
Start of Pisanis
On July 4, 1961, the mediumistic gift of G. Pisanis was revealed, who on that day received his first communication with the abacus used by mediums. From then on, G. Pisanis became established as the sole channel of this circle. During this period, G. Pisanis worked at the "Metapsychic Society of Athens," editing its magazine, "The World of the Soul," without being known there as a Channel.
Pisanis - Korontzis Naxou
One day, he met Konstantinos Korontzis at the Society's hall. After they met, and on the initiative of Konstantinos Korontzis, a new circle of communication began to operate at his home on Naxou Street in Patisia, attended by several people.
First Instance Court License
In 1972, it was recognized by the Court of First Instance of Athens with decision no. 3606/13-9-1972 as an official association, under the name SPIRITUALIST SOCIETY OF ATHENS "THE DIVINE LIGHT".
Death of Pisanis
Following the recall of the Channel G. Pizanis in 1980, the Society moved to a rented hall, where it remained until 2008.
New space at Niovis
In 2008, the current hall on Niovis Street was purchased with membership fees, where regular meetings of the Society's members are held, with readings of texts and discussions on them.
